Member Services Overview

A variety of financial assistance is available to Murujuga Members who prove to be the descendants of the original signatories of the three contracting parties who signed the BMIEA (Ngarluma Yindijibarndi, Yaburara Mardudhunera, Wong-Goo-Tt-Oo)

To access these funds you must first apply to be a MAC Member. A Membership Application Form must be completed and sent to MAC. You must be 18 years of age, and can provide documentation supporting your identification, and your lineage to the respective language groups for the MAC Board to consider and approve. To date MAC has approximately 1,158 members all of which descend from one of the 5 language groups represented.

The Member Services Team is happy to assist members to ensure their applications go to the board for approval but they require you to ensure all supporting documents is provided on time for the monthly board meeting. A checklist is provided. This can be a lengthy process if documentation is missing or not accurate.

MAC Members Assistance Applications and MAC Assistance Policies provide information surrounding the distribution of these funds.

Unlike other Aboriginal Corporations MAC does not receive royalties, as a result the assistance provided to members is a one off limit and is not topped up each year.

This assistance can be accessed at the Murujuga Members Assistance Office based at Level 1, 20 Hedland Place, Karratha 6714.

Please note it may take up to 5 -7 business days to process the assistance application received, and at times health emergencies and funeral arrangements need to be prioritised, which could create further delays in processing other applications submitted. We appreciate your understanding on these occasions.
