Murujuga Commercial Limited announces first business venture Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire

Murujuga Commercial Limited (MCL) is pleased to announce the official registration of its first business venture Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire.

Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire has been established as a majority owned Aboriginal business in partnership with renowned, Western Australian, and family-owned crane and lifting equipment hire business, Boddingtons Hire.

Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire will have the capacity to supply dry or wet hire cranes, forklift trucks and telehandlers to mining and industrial clients across the Pilbara.

Supported by Boddingtons’ industry leading equipment and service, Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire is well positioned to become a leading crane and equipment provider in the region.

MCL is currently in its start-up phase, with a focus on the establishment of businesses, the formation of a solid foundation for future business streams, and the creation of a pipeline of investments and projects that align with strategic goals and objectives. Start-up funding has to date been generously provided via sponsorships.

Wangarri means “Coming to Life”, which represents our journey as MCL in that today we bring to life the first of MCL’s ventures into the competitive world of providing services to the Pilbara economy. “We do this with a view to growing a business which will eventually contribute economic benefits to MAC members. Ultimately, we aim to build a diversified Aboriginal business with a portfolio of investments which ensure resilience in the face of economic and resource sector fluctuations. This is the first step on that long journey,” said Murujuga Commercial Limited Board Chairperson, Trevena Hicks-Phillips.

As a successful Western Australian business operating for almost 40 years, Boddingtons Hire sees Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire as an opportunity to grow our business whilst having a positive impact on the quality of life of Murujuga members.

“We anticipate the partnership we have in Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire will result in a successful new Pilbara business and major player in the crane and equipment hire sector in Western Australia. We look forward to seeing Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire grow from strength to strength,” said Boddingtons Hire Director, Tom Hunter.

Further announcements in regards to Wangarri Crane and Equipment Hire and MCL will be made in the near future.
